Jesus needed the Disciples. Why?
If you have ever read about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the night before Good Friday – we understand that Jesus was facing the most excruciating death ever known to mankind and the human race.
I am sure many of us have felt persecuted at times and we have said “Why Me Lord – I didn’t do anything wrong”?
If anyone had the perfect right to say that same thing, , it surely was Jesus. He lived a perfect life and here he was being sacrificed for the sins of others and the whole world when he was the one that lived a perfect life.
It says that Jesus was sweating as drops of blood that he was in that much agony because he knew of the death that awaited him.
However, he came out to meet the disciples. What did he find? He found the disciples sleeping. (Matthew 26:40)
He scolded them “Could you not watch with me for one hour”? Not only once but he came back 3 times and found them sleeping.
IF JESUS NEEDED THE DISCIPLES TO PRAY FOR HIM? HOW MUCH MORE DO WE NEED OTHERS TO PRAY WITH US?
May this Easter weekend be a celebration of JOY and REVERENCE for all that Jesus did for us – when we were the ones that were guilty of SIN.
HE HAS DIED FOR OUR SINS AND RISEN FOR OUR VICTORY!
Join us.
